2024 LDV eDeliver 7 electric van price and specs

Chinese brand’s battery-electric Toyota HiAce rival now on sale in Australia, priced from $60K

The new 2024 LDV eDeliver 7 electric delivery van is now on sale in Australia, priced from a competitive $59,990 plus on-road costs for ABN holders.

Providing a battery-electric alternative in the popular mid-size (2.5-3.5t) van segment that’s dominated by the Toyota HiAce – and where the combustion-engined LDV G10 finished second last year – the LDV eDeliver 7 undercuts the only other EV van in the class, the Mercedes-Benz eVito, by more than $30,000 at the entry level.

The eDeliver 7 range comprises four variants and two battery options at launch, covering short and long wheelbase lengths and including a high-roof body style as well.

The line-up opens with the SWB Low Roof 77kWh (from $59,990), followed by the LWB Low Roof 77kWh ($61,990), the bigger-battery LWB Low Roof 88kWh ($64,990) and, at the top end, the LWB High Roof 88kWh ($66,990).

Full retail pricing is still to be announced, but despite the healthy premium over the LDV G10+ and V80, both of which are also in the same category and span the $37,000 to $47,000 price bracket (drive-away), the eDeliver 7 carries competitive pricing for business operators who want a zero-emissions solution.

It’s also about half the price of the (albeit bigger) eDeliver 9, which opens at $116,537 plus ORCs.

Apart from the eVito (from $91,051 plus ORCs), rivals include the Ford E-Transit Custom that’s finally due to launch this year but is not expected to start anywhere near as low as the eDeliver 7.

Both the 77kWh and 88kWh batteries in the eDeliver 7 provide juice for a 150kW/330Nm electric motor on the front axle and yield cruising ranges of up to 318km and 362km respectively, depending on the variant.

DC fast-charging capabilities are rated at 78kW with claimed 20-80 per cent charge times of 43 minutes across the board, while AC charge times range from eight hours to 9.3h.

The battery pack is located under the floor of the eDeliver 7 and therefore has minimal impact on the key load-lugging metrics.

The SWB Low Roof van offers a load volume of 5.9 cubic metres and a payload of 1350kg compared to the LWB Low Roof’s 6.7 cubic metres and 1289kg payload. Payload drops to 1205kg when fitted with the bigger battery pack.

The range-topping LWB High Roof will swallow 8.7 cubic metres and has the lowest payload of the range at 1175kg.

Standard equipment highlights across the range include adaptive cruise control, heated steering wheel, keyless entry/start, a 12.3-inch touch-screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, three drive modes (Eco, Normal, Power) and parking sensors.

Headline safety gear includes autonomous emergency braking (AEB), front collision warning, emergency lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.

All eDeliver 7 variants are covered by a five-year/160,000km factory warranty and an eight-year/250,000km battery warranty, with two years/30,000km of capped-price servicing bundled in.
