Mercedes-Benz Vans Australia has announced the pricing of its new facelifted Vito and V-Class van portfolios, including the battery-electric eVito and EQV.
The model update also brings a raft of comfort, convenience, tech and safety upgrades.
The new 2024 Mercedes-Benz Vito line-up opens with the 114 MWB (medium wheel base) Van at an even $63,000 plus on-road costs – trimming almost $1500 off the previous entry price – and stretches up to $136,898 for the flagship eVito Tourer.
The V-Class people-mover starts at $113,832 for the 250 Avantgarde and tops out at $161,723 for the flagship EQV 300 electric van.
Headlining the updates is the addition of Mercedes’ lauded MBUX infotainment system across the range, accessed via a large 10.25-inch centre touchscreen on all variants and now offering wireless smartphone mirroring like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other range-wide upgrades include a 5.5-inch digital instrument cluster, multi-function steering wheel with haptic controls, keyless engine/motor start, active lane keep assist, traffic sign assist and tyre pressure monitoring.
No changes of any description have been made under the bonnet of the internal combustion variants, all of which continue with the familiar array of turbo-diesel four-cylinder engines save for the entry-level Vito 114 which debuts a new 1.9-litre mill (110kW/300Nm), opposed to the bigger and gutsier 2.0-litre (120kW/320Nm-174kW/500Nm) powerplants employed by its stablemates.
All diesel Vitos and V-Classes drive the rear wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Similarly, no changes have been made to the mechanicals (or battery packs) of the BEV variants which continue to comprise an 85kW/360Nm e-motor on the eVitos and a 150kW/365Nm unit for the EQV.
For those wanting to know more about the Vito 114, it’s available in mid- and long-wheelbase forms (each featuring the downsized engine detailed above) and can tow up to 2500kg braked, with the same internal cargo volume on offer as its dearer siblings.
On top of the previously mentioned range-wide updates, equipment highlights include parking sensors front and rear, a reversing camera, active parking assist, cruise control and speed limiter, digital radio, driver’s comfort seat with lumbar support, tinted rear glass and halogen headlights.
For reference, the 116 variants add multibeam LED headlights with automatic high-beam, satellite navigation with route-based speed, a 360-degree surround-view camera, power-folding wing mirrors, puddle lamps, double cupholders up front, colour-coded bumpers and active steering assist safety technology.
Despite the significance of its upgrades, the Vito portfolio carries on with the same exterior design as before whereas the V-Class scores tweaked, and variant-specific front fascia designs as well as a redesigned tailgate.
