Nissan Australia has added the 2024 Nissan Z NISMO to its full-time model line-up and announced the flagship sports coupe can now be ordered via any of its dealers.
The new Z NISMO was originally offered here in a limited batch of 100 vehicles available exclusively online, but Nissan executives revised that strategy when all 100 units were spoken for in just 53 minutes.
“As soon as we saw the pent-up demand for the Nissan Z NISMO, and the speed at which our first allocation was exhausted, we knew there would be fans of this iconic vehicle who had missed out on securing one for themselves,” said Nissan Australia managing director Andrew Humberstone.
“That is why I’m so thrilled we’ve been able to secure additional vehicles to meet that demand.
“The Z NISMO is now available to be ordered through our Nissan dealer network, with deliveries to begin almost immediately.”
To celebrate the transition from essentially a limited-edition to permanent fixture, Nissan let the Z NISMO loose up a closed Lake Mountain Road – a popular stretch of road for performance car fans near Marysville in Victoria and exactly the sort of terrain the car was designed for.
The secret NISMO sauce used to enhance the already impressive Z includes an extra 11kW/45Nm for the twin-turbo 3.0-litre petrol V6 (now 309kW/510Nm), an upgraded nine-speed automatic transmission, stiffer springs, revised dampers, beefier anti-roll bars, extra underbody bracing, a bigger braking package and some more elite rolling stock.
Other enhancements include a NISMO-tuned launch control system, unique graphics for the displays, NISMO-branded Recaro seats, a NISMO steering wheel, Sport+ drive mode and of course the unique and supposedly functional aero package.
Pricing for the auto-only Z NISMO is unchanged at $94,000 plus on-road costs, while the standard Nissan Z – which is available with both a six-speed manual as well as the auto – starts from $75,800.
