Polestar has ambushed the performance world with yet another high-performance concept car, this time based on the previously seen 2026 Polestar 6 roadster.
Making its global debut today at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the 2024 Polestar Concept BST previews an ultra-high-performance version of the electric sports car headlined by bespoke body work and motorsport-inspired aero features including an extended carbon splitter, integrated canards, recessed bonnet, more aggressive side skirts and an enormous rear wing.
The whole package rolls on lightweight 22-inch forged alloy wheels and widened tracks, and features a white racing-inspired livery over a ‘classic motorsport silver’ paint job. The competition theme continues inside with yellow harnesses.
Just like the regular Polestar 6, the Concept BST has a removable targa roof that adds more drama to the ensemble.
“Goodwood Festival of Speed is full of the most exciting cars and the most enthusiastic crowds, so it’s the perfect place for us to tease our Polestar Concept BST,” said Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath.
“This car is a demonstration of how far we can push our performance brand – Polestar turned up to 11 if you will – and a demonstration of how we could apply the BST formula to our line up in the future.”
The Swedish-born, Chinese-owned EV brand has been vocal about its desire to develop and release a series of ultra-high-performance ‘BST’ – Beast – models for a while now.
So far there have only been a couple of hot Euro-only Polestar 2 BST variants, but an internal desire for a fully-fledged Polestar supercar apparently remain strong.
It’s unclear how much power and torque the Concept BST develops, but odds are they will be big numbers given the standard Polestar 6 is supposed to be good for up to 650kW/900Nm in its most aggressive dual-motor form.
Some sort of performance bump would be par for the course here, as would a more focused and capable chassis set-up comprising shorter and stiffer springs, firmer dampers, reworked anti-roll bars and bespoke tyres to help extract maximum performance out of the platform.
Festival goers will be able to get a look at the Concept BST in the First Glance paddock alongside the existing Polestar 2, 3 and 5, while the Polestar 6 will take on the world-famous Goodwood Hillclimb.
