2025 Abarth 600e debuts

Angry electric performance SUV could have been a gamechanger in Australia

Stellantis has pulled the covers off the 2025 Abarth 600e electric performance SUV, but local hot hatch fans shouldn’t get their hopes up too high as carsales understands the purple pocket rocket isn’t on Fiat Australia’s radar.

Just a singular image of what will be the most powerful Abarth model to date has been released so far, showcasing a lairy exterior and previewing an exuberant driving experience to match.

At first glance you’d be hard-pressed to pick the Abarth 600e as a member of the wider 600e family, which isn’t sold Down Under, given how much lower it rides and its aggro aesthetic – headlined by a unique front bumper, side skirts, 20-inch alloy wheels and fixed roof spoiler.

The vehicle revealed is specifically a limited-run (1949 units) Scorpionissima launch variant – a car its creators describe as having an “evil” essence – decked out with some unique appointments like the ‘Hypnotic Purple’ paint and hot yellow scorpion badges on the front wings and centre caps.

The big reveal hasn’t yielded any new intel on the car’s mechanical make-up, but rather put a face to the already announced headline acts: 177kW of power, a limited-slip differential, sports suspension, performance brakes and Formula E-derived tyres.

Market availability is yet to be confirmed at this stage, but the Abarth 600e’s introduction in Europe is guaranteed – unlike releases in North America and Asian countries.

Australia has been unofficially ruled out due to being a low-volume right-hand drive market, however, we have been treated to the smaller Abarth 500e hot hatch, which admittedly has nothing in common with the hugely more powerful 600e electric SUV.
