2025 Alpina B3 and B4 GT close gap to BMW M3 and M4

Power boost, chassis tweaks, fresh styling and more for BMW tuner Alpina’s B3 and B4 GT duo

The new 2025 Alpina B3 GT and B4 GT have emerged with more power, chassis tweaks and subtly reworked styling that draw them closer than ever to their BMW 3 Series sedan/wagon and 4 Series coupe donor models.

On sale in Germany from November, and with right-hand drive sales set to commence early in 2025, the new B3 and B4 GTs receive a 26kW power boost to their turbocharged S58 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine, raising output to 389kW – 1kW shy of the latest BMW M3 and M4.

Maximum torque is 730Nm, which is a considerable increase over the 650Nm the related BMW M cars produce.

Combined with all-wheel drive and a quick-shifting eight-speed auto, the Alpina B3 GT can now hit 100km/h from rest in just 3.4sec – 0.1sec faster than the BMW M3 Competition xDrive, on its way to a 308km/h top speed.

The B3 GT wagon and B4 GT Gran Coupe, meanwhile, can both hit the 100km/h benchmark in 3.5sec before reaching a maximum speed of 305km/h.

Chassis-wise, Alpina has added a thicker anti-roll bar and new dampers on the B3, while the B4 gains fresh dampers, reinforced front suspension mounts and a fresh tune for the steering.

Finally, the B4 gains an electronically-controlled rear limited-slip differential.

In the flesh, the B3 and B4 GTs gain a new front splitter that gets small canards, a gloss black diffuser and black tailpipe finishers at the rear.

The B4 also adopts the new BMW M4’s upgraded headlights and tail-lights, while the B3 now rides on the same 20-inch alloy wheels that were previously only available on the B4.

Pricing in Germany for the B3 GT starts at €101,700 ($A165,000), €102,900 ($A188,300) for the B3 GT Touring and €105,100 ($A172,000) for the B4 GT Gran Coupe.

Australian-market details are still to be confirmed.
