2025 Alpine A390 Beta concept set for October 11 debut
Sporty French Porsche Macan rival teased ahead of its reveal next monthThe 2025 Alpine A390 Beta concept will be unwrapped on October 11 with the French sports car-maker revealing a shadowy teaser image of its new mid-size SUV’s sporty silhouette.
Created to steal sales from the new Porsche Macan EV, the production-spec A390 will enter production and showrooms next year sometime as one of seven electric models Alpine has committed to building by the end of the decade.
If you're wondering what the A390 name stands for, the ‘3’ is said to reference its size and the ‘90’ referring to how usable it is every day.
Based on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi CMF-EV platform, it’s thought the mid-size Alpine SUV might leverage its battery hardware (60kWh and/or 87kWh) from the current Renault Scenic E-Tech and team it with more powerful e-motors to ensure it’s good for more than 160kW.
Alpine says the A390 will be displayed in Paris alongside a special-edition A110, its new A290 hot hatch and a new concept called the Alpenglow Hy6 sportscar, the latter set to preview the firm’s all-new six-cylinder hydrogen combustion powertrain.
Recent trademark applications filed locally suggest Alpine is plotting on launching the A390 in Australia when sales begin in late 2025.
