The 2025 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster has made its global debut and will be cost $435,000 plus on-roads when Australian deliveries commence in the second quarter of this year.
Lining up alongside the Vantage Coupe, the new Vantage Roadster is $25,000 more than the hardtop and comes powered by the same Mercedes-AMG-sourced twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 that produces a mammoth 489kW/800Nm.
Like the coupe, the new Roadster channels all its might to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission with the aid of an electronically-controlled rear differential.
Launching from 0-100km/h in just 3.6 seconds and going on to a top speed of 325km/h, the new alfresco Aston is 0.1sec quicker in the sprint and an impressive 19km/h faster at the top end than its forbearer.
Blessed with a 49:51 (front:rear) weight distribution, the Vantage Roadster scores the same unequal length double wishbone front axle and multi-link rear end as its sibling, combined with advanced adaptive Bilstein DTX dampers.
The whole package rides on Vantage-specific Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres and comes as standard with steel brakes, however a carbon-ceramic set-up will be optionally available.
When it arrives, the latest Aston Roadster will come with a new faster and lighter fabric hood that can be opened or closed at speeds of up to 50km/h in just 6.8 seconds – supposedly the fastest time of any convertible on the market.
A recalibrated chassis set-up includes new software for the rear dampers and retuned mountings for the rear-mounted gearbox, both of which were undertaken to ensure the Roadster drives as well as the latest Vantage Coupe.
When launched in Australia, Aston Martin says the Vantage Roadster will be available in three new paint colours?– Iridescent Sapphire, Satin Iridescent Sapphire and Bronze Flare.
The roof meantime can be ordered in the choice of either red, blue,?black or silver, while owners will have the choice of four different 21-inch alloy wheel design and seven brake caliper finishes.
If that’s not enough choice, Q by Aston Martin’s craftsmen and women will happily offer a paint-to-sample finish and unlimited selection of wood, leather and composites within to make your Vantage Roadster truly bespoke.
Standard equipment highlights include a 10.25-inch infotainment, 390-watt surround sound system, adaptive cruise with stop and go function, matrix headlamps, door open assist, a 360-degree surround view camera and eight-way power-adjustable leather seats.
Options include the aforementioned carbon ceramic brakes, carbon-fibre bucket seats, 16-way power-adjustable ventilated seats, a heated sports steering wheel, a more powerful Bowers & Wilkins stereo, special liveries, premium paint and carbon-fibre for some of the Roadster’s body.
When the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster arrives Down Under it will go head-to-head with its closest rival; the recently updated 2025 Porsche 911 S Cabriolet ($365,400) and the new electrified 2025 Porsche 911 GTS T-Hybrid Cabriolet ($417,400).
