Audi Australia has announced the pricing and composition of its new-generation Q5 line-up, with five variants available from launch and prices predictably up across the board.
The range opens from $81,000 plus on-road costs for the entry-level 2025 Audi Q5 TFSI and eventually tops out at $122,400 for the halo SQ5; the bookends split by the Q5 TDI quattro ($87,600), Q5 TDI quattro Sport ($94,100) and SQ5 Edition One ($106,400).
With no 35 TDI equivalent on the immediate horizon, it now costs an extra $7600 to get yourself in a showroom-fresh Q5 while the performance-bent SQ5 has gone up a more modest $3316 in its new generation.
The local powertrain line-up largely mirrors that of the global portfolio: a 150kW/340Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol for the TFSI (front-drive), a 150kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel for the TDI quattro (all-wheel drive) and a 270kW/550Nm 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 for the all-paw SQ5.
Every powertrain features mild hybrid assistance in the name of fuel efficiency and is paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
That said, the TFSI and TDI’s mild hybrid system is Audi’s latest ‘MHEV Plus’ system which allows for “partial electric manoeuvring” without providing meaningful electric range like a full-fat series or parallel hybrid system.
All Australian Q5s come fitted with the sporty S Line exterior treatment as standard, along with progressive steering, advanced frequency selective dampers, Matrix LED headlights, an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit and 14.5-inch infotainment system.
TFSI an TDI quattro-specific appointments meantime include leather-appointed upholstery, powered and heated front seats, a four-spoke steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, colour ambient lighting, illuminated front door sills, brushed aluminium inlays, wireless smartphone integration, a digital key, Audi phone box light with cooling functionality, connected services and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Headline safety gear meantime extends to autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, side assist, park assist plus, a 360-degree camera, nine airbags, rear occupant detection and speed sign recognition (and plenty more).
The TDI quattro Sport, builds on the above with five-spoke 20-inch alloys, a panoramic sunroof, sports front seats and an S Line interior (contrast stitching, embossed S seat logos, flat-top and bottom steering wheel, black headliner, darkened aluminium inlays).
Going a step further, but only for a limited time, the SQ5 Edition One adds a unique black styling package, privacy glass, red brake calipers, sports-tuned suspension, exclusive black 20-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels, stainless-steel pedals and of course the S-spec turbocharged V6 good for 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds.
The full-fat SQ5 meantime ups the ante with a plethora of extra visual and equipment goodies like 21-inch wheels, metallic paint, acoustic front glazing, aluminium-look trims, ventilated, heated, and massaging front seats, premium diamond-stitched leather and Dinamica upholstery, a more advanced colour ambient lighting system, dynamic interaction light strip, a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system and a head-up display.
Audi Australia has confirmed the first demonstrators and customer cars will enter showrooms in the coming weeks whereas the swoopy Sportback versions should arrive in the final quarter of the year, plus a couple of other variants, like a plug-in hybrid, in the first half of 2026.
