2025 Audi Q6 e-tron: Australian details confirmed

All new electric SUV to be offered here in three flavours, including a high-performance SQ6

Audi Australia has announced its inaugural Q6 e-tron will be available in three different variants when it arrives in the first half of next year.

It was originally thought the brand would only offer a dual-motor, all-wheel drive line-up but the local operation says it’s taking the single-motor, rear-drive Q6 e-tron Performance and will offer it alongside the dual-motor Q6 e-tron quattro and the flagship SQ6 e-tron.

Sharing the same PPE architecture as the latest second-generation Porsche Macan, the 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron is only the second model after the Porsche to ride on the co-developed platform, with all versions initially coming with a larger 100kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

The Q6 e-tron Performance’s singular motor outputs 240kW and will cover up to 641km (WLTP) on a single charge whereas the 285kW Q6 e-tron quattro and 380kW SQ6 e-tron will cover up to 625km and 598km respectively.

Like the Macan EV, the Q6 e-tron is capable of DC fast-charging at up to 270kW, thanks to the 800-volt electrical architecture.

Find a 350kW charger and Audi says a 10-80 per cent top-up takes as little as 21 minutes, with 260km of range added in 10 minutes.

From launch in Europe, only an 11kW AC onboard charger will be available, but that will be upgraded to 22kW before too long – until then, an 11kW recharge takes more than 10 hours, while a 7.4kW domestic wall box takes more than 15 hours (0-100 per cent).

Unsurprisingly it’s the SQ6 e-tron that’s quickest off the mark with a 4.3-second dash from 0-100km/h, with the Q6 e-tron quattro coming in second at 5.9 seconds and the Performance a respectable third at 6.6 seconds.

The Q6 e-tron range will be the first Audi to get a 10.9-inch passenger display as standard, allowing the co-driver access to the infotainment and limited vehicle controls.

Customisable LED matrix headlamps are also standard on all models, with the SQ6 e-tron adding height-adjustable air suspension and cool-looking OLED taillamps.

Audi says full pricing and specification details of the 202i Q6 e-tron range will be released ahead of its local release in the first half of next year.
