BMW M has begun teasing a new Track Package for its current G87-series BMW M2, ahead of the street-legal performance enhancing kit’s 2026 launch.
Posting pictures on its Instagram account, BMW M has not detailed the changes that follow ticking the box for the new Track Package, but the camouflaged front and rear halves of the car, plus the addition of the new huge spoiler, suggest they are comprehensive.
Since it looks like more than dealer-fit accessories, it’s thought the new M2 Track Pack will need to be ordered from the factory, especially since it’s been tipped the upgrades also include both suspension and brake upgrades needed for track days.
The wheels, meanwhile, look identical to those fitted to the latest M2 CS, which could see that car’s chassis offered on the less powerful version of the regular M2.
If so, the M2 Track Pack will be available with the standard M2’s twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder and produce 353kW and 600Nm with the eight-speed auto or 353kW and 550Nm with the six-speed manual, rather than the 390kW and 650Nm you get in the auto-only M2 CS.
It’s not known if buyers will also be able to pick and choose which Track Pack extras they would like, or if it will only be available as part of a bundle.
It’s been rumoured that BMW M is already working on both an all-wheel xDrive version and an even more extreme M2 CSL, to go alongside the most extreme track-only single-seat M2 Racing that is powered by a 230kW four-cylinder engine and is eligible to compete in international sprint series, as well as endurance events like the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
BMW is expected to release full details of its new 2026 BMW M2 Track Package ahead of its launch later this year.
Currently, the 2025 BMW M2 range kicks off at $126,300 for the base six-speed manual.
