2025 BMW X5 Shadow Edition announced for Aus

Bavarian brand throws a heap of goodies at its entry-level large SUV

BMW has unveiled yet another special edition, this time within its local X5 ranks.

The 2026 BMW X5 Shadow Edition is based on the familiar xDrive30d and carries a sticker price of $146,900 plus on-road costs; some $9300 upstream of its donor vehicle.

The extra cash nets you a fair bit extra over what’s usually the entry-level X5 variant, specifically metallic paint, the M Sport Pro Package (M Sport brakes, M Shadowline lights, M seat belts, M Shadowline exterior, M Sport exhaust), 21-inch alloys, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, Crafted Clarity cut glass interior elements, carbon fibre interior trim, privacy glass and a black Alcantara headliner.

No changes have been made to the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel straight six (210kW/650Nm) residing under the bonnet, nor the eight-speed automatic transmission it drives all four wheels through.

“It is the latest in a line of Shadow Edition special models, following on from the 3 Series of 2017, 1 Series of 2019 and X7 of 2020,” BMW said.
