2025 Cadillac Lyriq and Chevrolet Corvette hit with price rise
Increased costs on US-imported vehicles blamed on exchange rate changes in wake of tariff fiascoThe 2025 Cadillac Lyriq and 2025 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray are now up to $5000 dearer in the wake of the recent US trade war.
Confirming a price rise for both vehicles, General Motors Speciality Vehicles (GMSV) says the Cadillac Lyriq will now start from $122,000 (+$5000), while the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 2LT coupe will cost $186,990 (+$4990).
According to GM’s local outfit, both rises have been triggered by a change in exchange rates and an increase in other costs.
The uniform price rise of $5000 has been applied to both the Cadillac Lyriq Luxury and Sport trims, but both the Corvette E-Ray hybrid and flagship Z06 escape the increases.
Elsewhere in the line-up, GMSV has already announced a $5000 increase on its GMC Yukon Denali SUV that now costs $174,990 plus on-road costs.
The full-size base-spec Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 4x4 remains pegged at $130,500 while the more expensive ZR2 ($141,500) and heavy-duty 2500 HD LTZ 4x4 ($166,500) have both been hit by a $3500 price bump.
Previously, General Motors Australia announced that any customer who had placed a deposit or sales order prior to the price rises would not be affected by the impact of the changes to the list price.
The price rise for the Cadillac Lyriq comes just weeks after Australian deliveries of the all-electric luxury SUV commenced and mere days before the arrival of the GMC Yukon Denali.
While the Lyriq comes in right-hand drive from the factory, both the full-size Yukon and Silverado are converted from left-hand drive by the Walkinshaw Automotive Group in Melbourne.
