Despite being ruled out for our market by GMSV, the 2025 GMC Sierra 2500 HD AT4X full-sized pick-up is in fact coming to Australia, albeit via Autogroup International.
The Australian conversion specialist said the top-flight Sierra 2500 would have few rivals in terms of outright off-road capability (within its segment) – partly because there are very few heavy-duty trucks offered here.
Available with either a 6.6-litre V8 petrol engine or a mighty 6.6-litre Duramax turbo-diesel, it’s thought most local buyers will opt for the latter powerplant owing to its incredible 346kW/1322Nm outputs.
Combined with a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission, the huge ute can tow up to 8000kg (braked) and carry up to 1100kg.
As standard, the Australia-bound Sierra 2500 HD AT4X will ride on a factory lift kit (+38mm) and get trick Multimatic DSSV dampers, plus underbody armour, uprated control arms and steel bumpers.
Within, the standard truck’s 13.4-inch infotainment system offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto while the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is supported by a vast 15-inch head-up display.
Other creature comforts include heated and ventilated leather seats, a wireless charging pad and a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system along with adaptive cruise, lane-keep assist and a 360-degree camera.
With the conversion set to take place in in Sri Lanka, the ADR-compliant Sierra 2500 HD AT4X will come with a five-year warranty and will be distributed by Melbourne-based American Vehicle Sales.
