2025 Hyundai Inster EV detailed for Aus
Pint-sized battery-electric SUV one step closer to Aussie launch as local specs go liveThe 2025 Hyundai Inster is just months away showrooms and while an official retail price is yet to be announced, Hyundai Australia has published the local specifications via its website.
The pint-sized battery electric SUV, which measures in at a mere 3.82m long and 1.61m wide, will be offered with two battery options: Standard Range (42kWh) and Extended Range (49kWh).
Both versions feature a single-motor, front-drive powertrain but differ in their respective outputs and ranges: the Standard Range is good for 71kW/147Nm and up to 327km (WLTP) while the Extended Range ups the ante with 85kW/147Nm and up to 360km of range.
Hyundai says the Inster’s battery pack can recharge from 10 to 80 per cent in around 30 minutes when using a DC fast-charger at a maximum power of 150kW.
All versions will come fitted with a heat pump, offer vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, and one-pedal (i-Pedal mode) regenerative driving.
The Standard Range rides on tiny 15-inch alloy wheels as standard and comes with recycled PET cloth upholstery, push-button start, LED daytime running lights, tinted windows, rain-sensing wipers, a six-speaker audio system, dual 10.25-inch screens, smartphone mirroring, wireless charging pad, sat-nav and over-the-air (OTA) updates.
Extended Range’s spec sheet reads identically save for the bigger battery, more powerful motor and bigger 17-inch alloy wheels.
Both variants score Hyundai’s SmartSense suite of driver aids (autonomous emergency braking, forward collision avoidance, rear cross traffic alert, driver attention warning, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, safe exit warning, rear occupant alert) and BlueLink connectivity.
Exterior paint options comprise Atlas White, Abyss Black (+$595), Buttercream Yellow (+$595), Natural Ivory, Sienna Orange (+$595), Urban Khaki, Aero Silver Matte, and Dusk Blue Matte.
Pricing of the 2025 Hyundai Inster will be announced in the coming weeks, if not days.
