2025 Lamborghini Temerario to pump out 660kW-plus

Lamborghini’s new V8 hybrid supercar set to outgun Ferrari 296 when it’s unleashed in August

Lamborghini president and CEO Stephan Winkelmann has revealed that the incoming replacement for the Huracan supercar – the 2025 Lamborghini Temerario – will produce at least 662kW from its new V8 hybrid powertrain.

Divulged on his personal LinkedIn page, Winkelmann’s revelation means the Temerario’s electrified twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 will produce at least 52kW more than its closest rival, the Ferrari 296 (610kW/740Nm).

“It’s finally time to introduce you to Lamborghini 634, the hybrid successor to Huracan that will join our HPEV [High Performance Electrified Vehicle] line-up,” Winkelmann said.

“This brand-new model is a clean-sheet design from Sant’Agata Bolognese and it will be equipped with a twin-turbo V8 engine, combined with a hybrid system incorporating three electric motors, optimised with a max output of over 900 CV [662kW].

“We are thrilled to bring you an experience unlike any other.”

Replacing the naturally-aspirated 5.2-litre V10 (470kW/565-600Nm) in the Huracan, the V8 part of the equation alone has already been confirmed as producing 588kW/730Nm.

It’s also capable of revving to an incredible 10,000rpm, but this is the first time the total output has been revealed.

Like the larger V12-powered Lamborghini Revuelto, the Temerario will feature three electric motors, with two of those driving the front axle to provide all-wheel drive.

With its second pair of driven wheels and a sizeable power advantage, the Temerario should raise the bar for the entry-level supercar class when it comes to performance claims, with 0-100km/h likely to beat the Ferrari 296’s 2.9sec benchmark and 0-200km/h expected to dip below 7.3sec.

From earlier spy shots we already know the Temerario will feature Revuelto-inspired looks, including ultra-slim headlights and hexagonal daytime running lamps.

At the rear, expect a large central tailpipe and a huge motorsport-derived diffuser.

More details are expected to be drip-fed in the coming weeks ahead of its unveiling in August.
