The 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Edition R SUV and Coupe have been locked in and priced for Australia, with the new special editions boasting sportier styling and a new Race driving mode, but at a lower, more attractive price.
Available now from your local Mercedes-Benz dealer, the new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Edition R SUV costs $128,900 plus on-road costs (ORCs), while the coupe SUV is priced from $141,600 plus ORCs.
At that money, the Edition R is significantly cheaper than the regular GLC 43. The standard SUV sells for $137,533 (+$8633) while the GLC Coupe goes for $148,134 (+$6534), spelling a win-win for buyers of the latest GLC special edition.
The Edition R’s new Race driving mode sharpens up the engine and transmission response, while the Mercedes-AMG dynamic engine mounts help improve both the ride and handling in Sport, Sport+ and Race settings.
Externally, Mercedes-AMG’s Night Package II adds a darker grille, moodier dark chrome and blacked-out badging.
Extra kit includes 21-inch AMG light-alloy matte black wheels and red brake callipers.
Within, the Edition R adds Performance Seat Package Advanced, with seats that are wrapped with Artico synthetic leather and Benz’s suede-like Microcut fabric. The sport seats get black trim and red stitching and are combined with red seatbelts.
The limited edition also includes a special trim that is exclusive to the Edition R and an AMG Performance steering wheel wrapped in more Microcut suede and Nappa leather.
Even without the Edition R goodies the regular GLC 43 already comes with a long list of standard features, including a Burmester 3D surround sound system, panoramic sliding roof, heated seats with memory function, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charger and ambient lighting.
A head-up display, 360-degree camera, auto parking, transparent bonnet view and Benz’s latest driver assist tech are all present.
The GLC 43’s turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 48V mild-hybrid system carries over unchanged and remains combined with a nine-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.
Total output is 310kW and 500Nm, which sees the SUV sprint to 100km/h in just 4.8 seconds.
Available in Polar White, Verde Silver, Graphite Grey, High-Tec Silver, Obsidian Black and Spectral Blue, the Edition R also comes in three premium hues: Patagonia Red, Opalite White and Alpine Grey.
Available now, Mercedes-Benz Australia has announced that the new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Edition R SUV and Coupe will be available in strictly limited numbers, without disclosing exactly how many will be imported.
