Mercedes-Benz Australia has rolled out the Edition R special already offered on the C 43 sedan and mid-size GLC 43 SUV to the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+, bringing a larger wheel and brake package, active suspension and a sportier cabin for a little over $180k.
The 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Edition R is now available to order in Australia with the trim ramping both the large SUV's look, as well as improving its drive with trick new active suspension.
On sale now, the new special edition GLE is available on both the SUV wagon and Coupe version and introduces large 22-inch AMG cross-spoke forged matte-black alloy wheels and comes with premium Manufactur paint at no extra cost.
Within, the Edition R adds brushed aluminium trim and red seatbelts that are combined with faux Artico leather seats with red stitching.
The Coupe, meanwhile, carries over black Nappa leather seats. Other add-ons, include a free AMG Performance steering wheel that is wrapped in both Nappa leather and faux suede.
Under the bonnet, the GLE 53 carries over its 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder petrol equipped with 48-volt mild-hybrid tech to produce 320kW/560Nm.
The big news, however, is the special GLE comes equipped with the AMG Dynamic Plus Pack, adding the performance division's trick AMG Active Ride Control with active roll cancellation. The same pack also introduces bigger performance brakes that upsize the front discs to a huge 400mm.
On sale now, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Edition R SUV is priced from $184,100 before on-road costs, while the Edition R Coupe commands a $4000 premium.
