Peugeot has continued its hybrid reinvention and announced an overhaul of its local 2008 portfolio just seven months after the facelifted model arrived on our shores.
Due in Australia next quarter, the 2025 Peugeot 2008 will move to an all-hybrid line-up and start from $42,490 plus on-road costs – a $2500 increase over the outbound petrol range – with two variants set to be offered.
The above starting price applies to the Allure grade and inflates to $49,490 when referring to the flagship GT which will replace both the petrol GT and the e-2008 EV at the top of the pecking order.
Both variants are powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol hybrid system good for 100kW/230Nm and capable of returning a combined fuel consumption of 4.4 litres per 100km while emitting 99g of CO2 per kilometre.
Drive is sent to the front wheels by a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Headline equipment on the Allure included a 10-inch infotainment system offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, LED exterior lighting, blind spot monitoring, fabric and leather-effect upholstery, 17-inch alloy wheels and keyless entry.
The GT builds on this with a configurable digital cockpit, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, leather steering wheel with green stitching, panoramic glass roof, black 18-inch diamond cut alloys, Alcantara and leather-effect upholstery, heated front seats and massage function for the driver.
As before, the 2008 is covered by a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.
