The facelifted 2025 Porsche Taycan line-up has been enhanced with the introduction of a new more affordable all-wheel drive 4 and the return of the sportiest GTS.
Raising the total number of Taycans offered locally to 11, the new 4 sedan is priced from $184,500 plus on-roads, commanding a $9400 premium over the cheapest rear-drive base model, but sitting well below the existing Taycan 4S that sells for $216,300.
Featuring all-wheel drive, the new Taycan 4 is offered in both sedan and Cross Turismo forms, the latter starting from $198,000.
Both versions come with a dual-motor powertrain that musters 320kW/610Nm, allowing for a 0-100km/h dash of just 4.6 seconds for the sedan and 4.7s for the Cross Turismo.
The Taycan 4 is available with either an 89kWh battery or an optional 105kWh ‘Performance Battery Plus’ that provides the Cross Turismo with an admirable 613km range – the sedan’s range will be disclosed later.
Tick the box for a Taycan 4 and you’ll get 19-inch alloy wheels, black-painted brake calipers, matrix LED lamps, adaptive air suspension, part-leather seats, rear privacy glass, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, digital radio and keyless entry.
If the Taycan 4 doesn’t quite do it for you, the quicker and sportier Taycan GTS ups the ante in every respect.
Priced from $260,300, the GTS sits a cool $44,000 upstream of the 4S but is still positioned some $47,200 below the Turbo.
Costing $12,000 more than the pre-facelift GTS, Porsche Australia hopes buyers will appreciate the big 75kW boost in power to 515kW, while a new push-to-pass figure temporarily raises that figure by a further 70kW for rapid overtakes.
Against the clock, the 2025 Taycan GTS now takes just 3.3 seconds to go from 0-100km/h dash – 0.4s quicker than before.
Featuring sportier aprons, it’s now easier to spot the GTS apart from its siblings.
It pairs its extra attitude with the same synthetic soundscape as the Turbo S.
Within, the GTS gets adaptive sport seats covered in leather and Race-Tex faux-suede, a new multi-function steering wheel, powerful Bose sound system and GTS-specific displays within the instrument cluster.
Porsche has yet to confirm the GTS’ cruising range but expect it to come fitted with the larger 105kWh Performance Battery Plus power pack as standard.
Whichever you choose, both the Taycan 4 and Taycan GTS should both deliver some of the fastest charging available, with battery thermal management allowing peak DC charging rates of up to 320kW.
The first customer cars are due to arrive in the first half of next year
