Stellantis has revealed the facelifted 2025 RAM Heavy Duty full-size pick-up truck ahead of its global debut in an effort to avoid any potential leaks or mitigate the impact of unofficial spy imagery while the trucks finish the final phase of their development.
From a design point of view, the new RAM 2500s and 3500s will don a reworked grille and futuristic split headlight arrangement up front while the rear is defined by the simplified C-clamp LED tail-lights.
The new front treatment is intended to make the Heavy Duty products more imposing on the road and enhance the capabilities of the cooling systems, primarily by force-feeding more cold air directly into the engine bay.
No firm details of the new line-up have been revealed at the time of writing, beyond the inclusion of cab-chassis and pick-up body styles, however it would seem there are at least a few powertrain enhancements on the way as well.
It’s unlikely the new models will adopt the smaller RAM 1500’s ‘Hurricane’ straight-six turbo-petrol, instead sticking with the familiar 6.4-litre V8 petrol and 6.7-litre Cummins turbo-diesel six, albeit with some choice enhancements aimed at cooling and efficiency.
“As the trucks will be running loose in the wild, with the camouflage removed, we wanted to share some quality exterior images with you rather than a badly lit snapshot out the window at 70mph,” reds the pre-emptive press statement from Stellantis.
“The formal reveal of the 2025 RAM Heavy Duty will take place at a later date. At that time, we will provide more details on design, powertrain and technology.”
RAM Trucks Australia has confirmed its interest in the updated model line but stopped short of confirming it for our market.
