Skoda Australia has confirmed the specification and local ETA of its first plug-in hybrid, the new-generation Kodiaq PHEV, which will arrive locally in December before being joined by an entry-level mild hybrid (mHEV) version in the second quarter of 2026.

The Kodiaq PHEV pairs a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 115kW electric motor to output a combined 150kW/350Nm, driving the front wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
A 25.7kWh lithium-ion battery – supporting 11kW AC charging and 50kW DC fast-charging – provides an electric-only range of up to 112km on the WLTP cycle.

Inside, the Kodiaq PHEV debuts Skoda’s latest cabin layout with a 13-inch infotainment system, head-up display, two wireless charging pads and the brand’s new ‘Smart Dials’ rotary controls for climate and drive settings.
Capacity continues to be class-leading, with up to 745 litres of luggage space in a five-seat configuration.

While pricing is still to be confirmed, the PHEV is expected to split the turbo-petrol Kodiaq Sportline ($61,990) and the hot Kodiaq RS ($69,990).
A mild-hybrid powertrain will be introduced in the second quarter of 2026 as the entry-level Kodiaq in Australia, joining the existing turbo-petrol Select.
According to Skoda Australia, the new electrified models are designed to “offer the efficiency and performance families expect, while maintaining the practicality that’s made Kodiaq a favourite”.
The Kodiaq PHEV’s arrival will cap off a big year for Skoda Australia which has launched the updated Scala and Octavia passenger cars, the Enyaq and Elroq EVs, and of course the new-generation Kodiaq SUV.
Its arrival will mark the beginning of a wider rollout of plug-in and mild hybrid models as the brand expands its electrified line up in Australia.
