UPDATE, 27/08/2025: As expected, the 2025 Suzuki Fronx has been gifted a sub-$30,000 drive-away price tag ahead of its local release next week (September 1) to drive home its value-focused intent.
Officially priced from $29,990 drive-away, the Fronx does indeed undercut the bulk of its similarly-equipped mainstream competitors, though it can't match the stonking sub-$25K prices of the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro or Mahindra XUV3XO (see below).
It's unclear if this offer is purely introductory or permanent, but we wouldn't be surprised if it was the latter given the best-selling Jimny is now offered here with drive-away pricing full-time.

ORIGINAL, 09/07/2025: The 2025 Suzuki Fronx Hybrid has been priced from $28,990 plus on-road costs ahead of its commercial release in September, with just one fully loaded model grade to be offered in our market.
With a fresh face, nameplate and a long list of features, the Fronx isn’t the most affordable vehicle in its class but is one of the few light SUVs featuring a mild hybrid powertrain – as opposed to a full hybrid like the Toyota Yaris Cross.
Rivals for the new entrant will include the top-selling Mazda CX-3 (from $27,070), Hyundai Venue (from $22,750) and Kia Stonic (from $25,660) as well as challenger models like the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro (from $23,990 drive-away) and Mahindra XUV 3XO (from $23,990 drive-away).
Already on sale in India – where it chalked up 100,000 sales in just 10 months – the Fronx was originally due in Australia late 2023, but overwhelming domestic demand pushed the Aussie launch back.
And according to Suzuki Australia managing director Michael Pachota, the all-new runabout is primed to become one of Suzuki’s best-selling models here too thanks to the brand’s “low running costs … proven reliability and strong resale value”.
“We [will] also have an introductory drive-away offer when we start sales in September and rumour has it, it won’t start with a three,” he said.
Just one variant, the Fronx Hybrid, will be offered Down Under with standard equipment highlights including a 9.0-inch central touchscreen, single-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, a configurable head-up display (a brand first), synthetic leather seats, keyless entry, push-button start and an electronic park brake with auto-hold.
The powertrain is a mild hybrid 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol set-up (75kW/136Nm) driving the front wheels through a conventional six-speed automatic transmission.
Temporarily boosting power and torque during hard acceleration is a 12-volt integrated starter generator (ISG) that also allows for the engine to be shutdown when coasting, though it can’t propel the vehicle by itself.
Claimed fuel consumption on the combined cycle is 4.9L/100km.
But for all its value and efficiency, the Fronx won’t be eligible for a five-star ANCAP safety rating due to the lack of a front central airbag, though it will still come with plenty of safety tech as standard, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic headlights, rear cross-traffic alert and a 360-degree camera.
At just 3990mm long, the Suzuki’s new baby SUV is smaller than most of its key rivals but doesn’t lag behind for boot space, offering 308 litres with the rear seats in place.
The Fronx is covered by a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and boasts 12-month/15,000km service intervals with capped price servicing costs averaging out to $400 per annum.
