What would the 2024 Tesla Model 3 look like as a hatchback or a wagon?
Well thanks to Photoshop and digital creator Theottle, we now know and the answer is actually pretty good.
The Model 3 has always been and will likely always remain a mid-size electric sedan, but we know how much car-makers like to squeeze more sales from a model line through special-editions, new variants and even fresh body styles.

Mazda has the 6 sedan and wagon, Genesis has the G70 sedan and Shooting Brake, Audi has the A4 sedan and Avant (and the A5 Cabriolet and Sportback hatch), BMW has the 3 Series sedan and Touring (and the 4 Series Coupe and Convertible) and the Skoda Octavia and Superb sedans each have their own wagon counterparts, to name a few.
Save for the BMW i5, no other electric sedan or passenger car is offered as an out-and-out wagon; the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo comes close but is more akin to a crossover with its raised ride height.

And hot wagons are making a comeback in Australia, so Tesla or any of its main rivals – including BYD, Hyundai and Polestar – could be primed to leverage an untapped niche in the mainstream EV market, one that MG has been making its own in the UK with its MG5 EV.
With both the Model 3 and Model Y selling like hotcakes compared to their rivals, the time could be right for Tesla to take a relatively low financial gamble to create and exploit a new market with an electric wagon, one that bridges the gap between the established sedan and SUV.
