The News
The 2025 Toyota GR Yaris is now available with an optional motorsport-derived ‘Aerodynamics Package’ said to bring real gains when it comes to cooling, grip, braking and balance.

The Finer Details
Claimed to be the fruits of competing in the top-flight motorsport like the WRC, the Japanese Rally Championship and touring car racing like Japan's Super Taikyu series, the upgrades are best described as comprehensive.
Tick the box for the $4500 Aerodynamics Package and you add a front lip spoiler that slashes lift and boosts lateral grip, front fender vents that enhance front-end stability, bumper ducts for cooling and stability, an adjustable rear spoiler to complement the splitter and a new underfloor for high-speed stability.
Toyota hasn’t revealed how much total downforce the package adds over the standard car, just that grip, braking and overall performance have all been improved while adding some “visual flair”.
As well as boosting outright performance for those who regularly hit the track, the upgraded GR Yaris also comes with a new large cooling duct and bonnet grille derived from its rally cars, which helps lower under bonnet temperatures of the turbocharged 1.6-litre three-cylinder at high speeds.
Outputs remain pegged at 221kW/400Nm.
Available only on the flagship GTS model, the new pack is applicable with both the six-speed manual and the eight-speed automatic versions.
The Road Ahead
Now knocking on the door of being five years old, the GR Yaris’ was comprehensively updated last year, but the new Aerodynamics Package adds some welcome visual punch and extra capability for those who regularly take their car out on track – undoubtedly a no-brainer.
