ORIGINAL, 29/11/2024: The 2025 Toyota Supra Track Edition has made its public debut and will arrive Down Under next year as the hottest and potentially only member of the local GR portfolio, but not the global ensemble.
Riding on bespoke suspension and chassis components, the Track Edition is immediately recognisable by its functional carbon fibre aero elements and matte black 19-inch alloy wheels, but it’s under the skin where the true upgrades have been made.
Sitting on retuned adaptive dampers and fitted with stiffer underfloor bracing, a reinforced rear subframe mounting, bigger front sway bar, aluminium sway bar brackets, new front control arm bearings and with more negative front camber dialled in, this is the most dynamic Supra offered in Australia to date.
Other enhancements include a retuned power steering system and limited-slip differential as well as enlarged front brake calipers.
No changes have been made under the bonnet, meaning the Track Edition outputs the same 285kW/500Nm as the standard Supra variants, however the interior has been upgraded with black Alcantara upholstery, GR-branded headrests and red seatbelts.
Manual and automatic transmission options will be offered as per usual, as will a colour head-up display, 12-speaker JBL audio system, wireless smartphone charger and heated seats.
Local pricing and finer specification details of the Track Edition will be announced next year, something that can’t be said for the new 2025 Toyota Supra A90 Final Edition.
The long-awaited production version of the Supra GRMN, the Final Edition is the ultimate factory Supra with even more aggressive aero features than the Track Edition and a healthy output increase.
Packing 320kW/570Nm and driving the rear wheels exclusively via a six-speed manual transmission, just 300 Final Editions are being produced for the Japanese and European markets, all fitted with an Akrapovic titanium muffler as standard.
Essentially a road-going GT4 racer, the Supra A90 Final Edition rides on fully-adjustable – 16 rebound stages,12 compression stages – KW suspension and comes with an armada of other chassis upgrades shared with the Track Edition.
Brembo brake calipers with ultra-high-performance pads grab drilled floating discs at both ends while the brake lines have been upgraded to steel mesh.
Sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres envelop the forged 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels.
Inside the cabin you’ll find full-carbon Recaro bucket seats upholstered in Alcantara, an Alcantara steering wheel, door trim, centre console kneepad, centre armrest, shift knob boot, and instrument panel, red seatbelts and carbon-fibre scuff plates.
Production of the fifth-generation Supra will wind down by the end of 2025 as Toyota prepares an all-new hybrid-powered sixth-generation due in the second half of the decade, though any involvement on BMW’s behalf is yet to be confirmed.
