Order books for the 2025 Volvo ES90 have officially opened, with two versions of the electric sedan being offered here from $88,880 and $107,990 plus on-road costs.
Thought the sedan was dead? Not according to Volvo; it’s latest ES90 electric four-door is inbound and ready to mix it with the BMW i5, Mercedes-Benz EQE and higher-end Hyundai Ioniq 6 variants.
Both the Plus and Ultra versions feature a 245kW/480Nm single-motor powertrain that draws current from a 92kWh battery pack, a combination that yields a 554km WLTP range and 6.9-second 0-100km/h sprint.
Up to 300km of range can be added in just 10 minutes when hooked up to a 350kW DC fast-charger thanks to its 800V architecture.
Being a premium sedan there’s predictably a mountain of standard equipment, but highlights common to both variants include four-zone climate control, a 14.5-inch Google-based infotainment system, a 9.0-inch virtual cockpit, heated wiper blades, heated steering wheel, electric child lock, digital key plus, key card, heated front and rear seats, sat-nav and a head-up display.
The Ultra’s main claim to fame over the Plus is its 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system – plus a few more yet to be confirmed toys.
\A Volvo Australia spokesperson the company was planning to have the first demonstrator vehicles in showrooms by the end of the year, before the first customers arrive in early 2026.
