2025 XPeng G7 outed in China

The first pictures of 2025 XPeng G7 have been released ahead of its Chinese launch later this year, giving us an early look at the EV start-up’s fourth model which could be destined for Australia.

Set to be based on the same SEPA 2.0 platform as the mid-sized G6, the new XPeng G7 was revealed via the Chinese government’s Ministry of Industry and Information (MIIT) published documents as part of its pre-sale homologation process.

Measuring 4892mm long, the XPeng G7 is 141mm longer than the Tesla Model Y and casts a similar length shadow on the ground as a Toyota Kluger.

It’s not been confirmed, but it’s thought the XPeng G7 will be introduced here to sit above the current G6 and offer buyers seven seats in the absence of the X9 people mover.

Headline equipment on the G7 includes a large 15.6-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, two-spoke oval-shaped steering wheel is also present, twin wireless charging pads and button door releases.

When launched, the XPeng G7 will initially be offered with a single e-motor that produces 218kW, with more powerful dual-motor/all-wheel drive versions set to be available later.

Like the G6, the latest G7 SUV will come with an 800-volt electrical architecture that should help it deliver class-leading charging speeds.

Space will also be a highlight of the G7, along with embedded artificial intelligence that will offer advanced driver assist aids.

XPeng has yet to confirm the G7 for the Australian market but it will enter Chinese showrooms in the coming months, suggesting it could land Down Under before the end of 2025.
