Pre-orders for the opulent 2025 Zeekr 009 people mover have opened, with pricing starting from $135,900 plus on road costs for the Chinese-sourced electric Lexus LM rival.
Two variants are being planned for Australia, each sharing a common specification and only varying on the seat configuration.
The above price tag applies to the 7 Seat AWD while the 6 Seat AWD starts from $139,900, both of which are powered by a 450kW/693Nm dual-motor powertrain capable of launching them from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds.
A 116kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides up to 582km of WLTP range and can be recharged at up to 205kW on DC power, something that yields a 10-80 per cent top-up in about half an hour.
An 11kW AC charge from 0-100 per cent meantime takes 13.5 hours.
Headline equipment on both variants includes Nappa leather and Ultrasuede upholstery, 12-way power-adjustable front seats, a fixed panoramic glass roof, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 35.95-inch augmented reality head-up display, 15-inch infotainment interface, a 17-inch 3K OLED rear entertainment screen, adaptive air suspension, wireless smartphone mirroring, a 30-speaker Yamaha surround-sound system, tri-zone climate control and an 8.6-litre fridge.
If you think the second-row flatscreen is flash, it doesn’t stop there.
The 009 is fitted with what Zeekr calls a ‘Sofaro first-class aviation-type second row’, meaning the free-standing left seat gets 14-way power-adjustment (12-way for the right), a foldable single tray table with cupholders, retractable individual cupholders, a remote control storage compartment and two mobile storage areas.
Other stand-out features include heated and first and second row, sentry mode, child/pet/camp/incognito/stress relief modes, auto-dimming mirrors, ambient lighting, over-the-air updates, an AI-based virtual assistant, vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality and a 29-litre frunk.
Unlike most MPVs and SUVs, the seven-seat 009 employs 2+2+3 seating arrangement which provide walk-through access to the third row.
The six-seater meantime gets a 2+2+2 layout which negates the walk-through access – courtesy of broader arm rests – and removes the compact centre pew from the rear bench, third-row centre armrest, second-row foldable tray table, retractable individual cupholders, remote control storage compartment, mobile phone storage and seat back pockets.
Both variants roll on 20-inch aero wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres and are available in five exterior colours: Crystal White, Grey Purple, Mineral Green, Electric Blue and Phantom Black.
The interior is likewise able to be had in Stone Black, Stone Grey and Polar White, Midnight Blue and Polar White or Jade Green.
All the expected safety acronyms and more are present, the factory warranty is five years (unlimited kilometres) while the battery is covered for eight years/160,000km, service intervals are every 24 months/40,000km and five year’s roadside assistance is included in the price.
