2025 Zeekr 7X demand running hot

Inbound Model Y rival rakes in the pre-orders as it prepares to launch

The 2025 Zeekr 7X is already proving a hit with consumers, having taken more than 1000 pre-orders in the week since its local pricing and spec was announced.

Destined to go toe-to-toe with the Tesla Model Y, Kia EV5, XPeng G6 and BYD Sealion 7, the 7X will be offered in three guises and vary between $57,900 and $72,900 plus on-road costs (before options), catering to electric medium SUV buyers of all requirements.

“We’re pleased with the positive market response,” Zeekr Australia managing director Frank Li said.

“Achieving over 1000 pre-orders in the first week indicates strong consumer interest in the 7X’s combination of advanced technology and practical luxury.

“This reinforces our confidence in the Australian market’s readiness for premium electric vehicles.”

No doubt sweetening the deal for these early adopters is the just-extended introductory offer that bundles a seven-year warranty, seven years roadside assists, a 7kW home charger, type-2 charging cable, mini portable (10AMP) charging cable, and complimentary colour options into the price of the vehicle.

That offer will end on August 17 and be replaced by a lesser but still enticing promo that’ll net buyers a bonus type-2 charging cable, mini portable (10AMP) charging cable and complimentary colour options.

Due to there only being one Zeekr retailer in the state, WA buyers have until August 31 to make the most of the original offer.

The initial 7X line-up consists of the entry-level Rear-Wheel Drive, mid-spec Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive and flagship Performance All-Wheel Drive, the latter two of which feature a 100kWh NCM battery pack.

The base model features a 75kWh LFP power pack which sustains a 310kW/440Nm electric motor on the rear axle, something it shares with the Long Range.

Zero-100km/h takes a claimed 6.0 seconds, though neither can hold a candle to the 475kW/770Nm (dual-motor) Performance’s 3.8-second sprint.

As for range, the Rear-Wheel Drive will cover up to 480km on a full charge, the Long Range up to 615km and the Performance up to 543km, all against the WLTP standard.
