The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette has been revealed, with new pictures showing that its wall or bridge of buttons has been banished in favour of a more conventional centre console.
According to feedback, owners of the current Chevrolet C8 Corvette were not a fan, so as part of the mid-life tweaks every model from the Stingray to the flagship ZR1 gets a new and more conventional centre console, as well as a new three-screen cabin architecture.
Said to dramatically slash the button count, the new centre console also now features two cup holders and a wireless charger, plus buttons for the transmission and driving modes.
The cleaner look sees a new 14-inch digital instrument cluster replace the old 12-inch unit, while a 12.7-inch infotainment system (up from 8.0 inches) is joined by a further 6.6-inch touchscreen to the left (or right) of the steering wheel.
Beneath the new touchscreen lurks the wireless charging pad that sports a neat cover to keep your phone secured when on track. There’s also a new USB-C port.
Other changes include larger and illuminated volume and air-conditioning controls that have been relocated to the base of the touchscreen.
Finally, hinting at the old C8’s cabin, there’s a prominent grab handle for passengers.
Behind the scenes the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) has been upgraded to offer extra features including more track data and lap videos.
Other changes concern the Performance App, which was introduced last year on the hybrid E-Ray model. It’s now been rolled out to other Corvettes and provides extra live telemetry, displaying horsepower, torque flow, and g-forces, along with engine, transmission, water and tyre temperatures.
Within, owners get the option of new colour themes for the interior that include adding Competition Yellow stitching and seatbelts and an even wilder option of ordering a car with an asymmetrical interior colourway. This blends a Jet Black suede cabin on the driver’s side with Adrenaline Red on the passenger seat.
On the ZR1 (that we don’t get in Australia) a carbon-fibre frame around the digital instrument cluster has been introduced that is an option on the E-Ray and Z06.
The targa now gets an electrochromic glass roof that offers three tint options.
Outside, the 2026 Corvette gets the new paint option of either Roswell Green Metallic or Blade Silver Metallic, which can be combined with asymmetrical centre stripes with either Edge Red or Carbon Flash.
While powertrains carry over unchanged, there’s now an optional ZTK performance pack that adds the largest carbon-ceramic brakes ever fitted to a Corvette and feature 10-piston calipers at the front and six-piston calipers at the rear.
With production set to begin this September at the Corvette’s US factory, it’s thought first American deliveries of the updated coupe and roadster will begin before the end of the year, with GM Australia expected to announce the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette will head Down Under in the first half of next year.
