The 2026 GAC AION UT has been locked in for an Australian launch in the second quarter of the year as the smallest – and possibly the cheapest – option in the fledgling Chinese brand’s growing line-up.

Measuring up at 4270mm long, 1850mm wide and sitting on a 2750mm wheelbase, it’s similar in size to the established MG MG4, however key details surrounding the powertrain and equipment levels are yet to be confirmed for our market.
The expected driving range is also an unknown, however the Aion UT is already sold in China and other Asian markets where it’s offered with various battery packs, the largest being a 60kWh unit good for around 500km (NEDC).
Features like 16-inch wheels, LED headlights and a large 14.6-inch infotainment screen are offered overseas along with over-the-air (OTA) update compatibility, and a host of safety and driver assist aids.

GAC has promised to bring more than 10 models to Australia within the next five years.
Full specifications and local pricing for the 2026 GAC AION UT will be revealed closer to the compact EV’s arrival.
