2026 Hyundai i20 N Shadow Edition is the last of its kind

Special edition hot hatch limited to just 100 units marks the end of the first-gen i20 N

The News

Hyundai Australia has debuted the first of three special edition N cars destined for our shores over the next year or so: the i20 N Shadow Edition. The swansong for one of the world’s most lauded hot hatches, just 100 units are being made available exclusively for the Australian market.

The Finer Details

Positioned $4000 upstream of the regular i20 N – which went out of production in March – the Shadow Edition is only being offered in Australia and only in black or white.

The latter is the cheaper of the two options (being a standard colour) while the ‘Phantom Black’ adds $595 to the asking price as usual for a premium colour.

Justifying the extra outlay over the standard car are bronze forged 18-inch alloy wheels, matching side decals, an Alcantara steering wheel with a blue 12 o’clock marker, Alcantara shifter, rubber mats and a build plate on the dash.

The rest of the equipment list reads as normal, meaning you get single-zone climate control, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, q 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, seven-speaker Bose sound system, connected services, selectable ambient lighting, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, sat-nav, wireless phone charging, DAB+ digital radio, rear privacy glass, keyless entry and start and more.

No changes have been made to the 150kW/275Nm 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine under the bonnet, nor the six-speed manual transmission, suspension or standard Pirelli PZero tyres.

The Road Ahead

With production already wrapped, the 100 Shadow Editions are the absolute last i20 Ns to have arrived Down Under, though Hyundai has previously said there was still plenty of stock – of the standard model – available nationally.

The Shadow Edition is available to order now, with every example understood to already be on local soil.

A second-generation i20 N has long been rumoured and hinted at, but it’s almost guaranteed to feature a turbo-petrol-hybrid powertrain and, by default, a dual-clutch automatic transmission – with no option of a manual.

How much does the 2026 Hyundai i20 N cost?
i20 N – $37,500
Shadow Edition – $41,500
