The 2026 Kia EV6 is set to arrive in local showrooms ‘imminently’ with a minor price bump across all four variants, along with a refreshed exterior, updates to the interior, enhanced tech and the fitment of a larger battery pack for extra driving range.

The headline number here is $70 because that’s the miniscule amount every EV6 variant has risen for 2026, bringing entry price to $72,660 (before on-road costs) for the entry-level Air rear-wheel drive (RWD), while the high-performance all-paw GT tops the range at $99,660 (plus ORCs).
A larger 84kWh lithium-ion battery pack also features across the range, boosting driving range by 26-56km, depending on the grade.
The base Air is now claimed to cover up to 582km on a single charge (up from 528km), while the GT-Line RWD gains the most significant increase, up 56km to a claimed 560km.
Outside, the most obvious change to the EV6 is the addition of the Korean brand’s signature Star Map headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs), while new wheel designs also feature across the 19- to 21-inch range (size is variant dependent).

Revised front and rear bumpers bring sharper lines and a wing-type shape at the rump, which Kia says helps tie the design together visually. Updated tail lights also feature.
Inside, the EV6 adopts the larger EV9’s cabin layout, with dual 12.3-inch displays (which introduces wireless smartphone mirroring across the range), a horizontal design theme and a new steering wheel design also borrowed from the EV9.
Kia’s fingerprint recognition tech has been fitted to every grade except the Air RWD.
As part of the update, the flagship EV6 GT gains stiffer rear sway bars and softer front springs.

Given that Kia operates its own local ride and handling program, local examples will arrive with retuned suspension and steering.
Kia says the EV6 GT’s drive modes have been improved as part of the retune, citing increased natural feel and grip levels, along with improved rough road and driving limit confidence.
‘Importantly, the retune of the MDPS map has also improved steering feedback with natural feel, improved cornering accuracy and effort build-up,’ said Kia in its press release.
Kia Connect has also been added, adding over-the-air (OTA) update capability to the EV6.

The upgraded EV6 was originally expected to arrive back in 2024, however, it was delayed so the Korean brand could focus on launching the EV3 small SUV and EV5 mid-size SUV, giving the pair a 'wide berth' so they could be established Down Under, a spokesperson for Kia Australia told carsales.
Now, Kia Australia says the updated EV6 range will arrive in local showrooms ‘imminently’.
