  • Will come with a local suspension tune

The Finer Details

The 2026 Kia PV5 Cargo will be on sale in Australia within the next 12 months, cementing the South Korean carmaker into yet another segment Down Under following the recent arrival of its first dual-cab ute.

It’ll also give Kia an opportunity to rival other battery-electric vans already on sale in Australia, including the LDV eDeliver 7, Ford E-Transit Custom and Volkswagen ID.Buzz Cargo.

A spokesperson for the brand told carsales the fleet-focused PV5 Cargo will be on show at Mobility Live in Sydney this month (Oct 15-16) and is the only model confirmed for Oz at this stage.

Overseas, as many as 16 configurations are available, including people movers and high-roof variants.

Three battery options have also been confirmed overseas: 43.3kWh, 51.5kWh and 71.2kWh – providing up to 416km of range.

From launch, all will come powered with a single front-mounted 120kW/250Nm e-motor.

Local pricing is also TBC, but keen pricing in Europe suggests the electric van could start from as little as $50,000 in Australia.

The electric van measures 4695mm long, 1895mm wide and stands 1923mm tall (including antenna), with a wheelbase of 2995mm.

The Road Ahead

Kia says production of the electric van has already kicked off in Korea, with more variants scheduled to roll out following its Aussie arrival next year, but you won’t have to wait that long to see one in the flesh; the PV5 Cargo will make its first local public appearance at Mobility Live in Sydney next week.
