One of Australia’s cheapest SUVs is celebrating its first anniversary on the market with a special edition seemingly aimed directly at Darth Vader (if he needed a shopping car). The 2026 Mahindra XUV 3XO AX7L Black Anniversary Edition costs $27,990 drive-away, making it the new temporary flagship of its stable.

Capped at just 300 units, the XUV 3XO AX7L Black Anniversary Edition will be offered exclusively in 'Stealth Black' with a matte 'Galvano Grey' roof, complimented by a body-coloured grille, trim, badging and black 17-inch alloys.
Inside the cabin you’ll find a rear luggage tray and dark aluminium scuff plates, otherwise it’s all the same ensemble as the regular XUV 3XO AX7L: leatherette upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, a seven-speaker Harmon Kardon system, dual 10.25-inch displays and wireless smartphone projection.
Under the bonnet is the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine (82kW/200Nm) and six-speed automatic transmission as before.

Order books will open on August 1, however an ETA on the first customer cars is TBC.
