2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class priced for Australia

The overhauled 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will start from $264,200 plus on-road costs when it arrives later this year, with two versions set to be offered from launch and followed by the ultra-luxurious Maybach next year.

As reported in January, the new S-Class has been overhauled in the biggest refresh you can imagine this side of a new generation.

The S 450 4MATIC is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-litre straight six petrol engine with mild hybrid assistance good for 280kW/560Nm (600Nm on overboost) and 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds.

Headline equipment on the ‘entry-level’ S-Class includes 20-inch AMG wheels, an illuminated grille, Digital Light LED headlights, rear-wheel steering, the latest MB.DRIVE suite, a 14.4-inch central display, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, MBUX Virtual Assistant, a Burmester 3D surround sound system, Digital Vent Control and the latest MBUX OS.

Stepping up to the 580 L 4MATIC primarily nabs buyers a bombastic new powertrain: a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 capable of revving to 9000rpm and outputting 395kW/750Nm – 0-100km/h takes 4.0 seconds.

As you’d expect for the S-Class, both versions are available with a plethora of pricey optional extras and packs, ranging from just under $14,000 to more than $27K.

The new S-Class will arrive in November, however eager customers are able to place their orders now.

The range will be bolstered in the first half of 2027 by the arrival of the opulent – and V12-powered – Mercedes-Maybach S-Class which will undoubtedly push the dollar count even closer to the $600,000 barrier given the Benz variants are nearly $10,000 dearer than their predecessors.
