Nissan has confirmed its all-new D27 Navara has been locally fine-tuned and validated by Premcar, the Aussie engineering firm responsible for the ongoing and highly successful Warrior program.
It’s well-documented how the Pro-4X and SL Warriors are the best-driving and most capable D23 Navaras to be offered across the model’s 11-year production run, so it would make sense for Nissan to leverage the same engineers for the next generation.
The 2026 Nissan Navara is just a week away from its global debut and has finally stepped into the spotlight – predictably its design still looks like a badge engineered Mitsubishi Triton.

Confirmation of Premcar’s involvement in the chassis tuning is a strong indication the new Nav won’t drive exactly like its donor; not something we can say about the Isuzu D-MAX and Mazda BT-50 twins.
“In Australia and New Zealand, the ute is just part of life,” Nissan Australia local product development and enhancement senior manager Tim Davies said.
“We were cooperating with Premcar to make sure all the ride and handling performance we want from the new Navara is delivered.”

The D27 Navara will make its global debut in Adelaide in a week’s time and enter local showrooms in the first half of next year.
It’s expected to wear mostly Mitsubishi sheet metal, feature the same turbocharged 2.4-litre diesel powertrain, and – going by today’s teaser video – a largely photocopied (Triton) interior.
