2026 Nissan Z inbound, finally with a manual NISMO

The facelifted 2026 Nissan Z will arrive Down Under in September offering customers a new look, sharper dynamics, more comfort and the long-awaited option of a manual transmission for the flagship NISMO, all for virtually no extra cash.

Prices for the new model have gone up less than $650 when referring to the base Z and less than $400 for the more focused NISMO, despite all versions nabbing some handy upgrades.

For the standard model, the extra $640 gains customers NISMO monotube dampers which promise both sharper handling and a more refined ride quality, plus a new wireless phone charger and a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror.

The latter two have been applied to the NISMO as well, however the updated halo has also inherited two-piece front brake rotors derived from the R35 GT-R and at long last, a six-speed manual transmission.

As with the standard Z, the NISMO costs the same regardless of its transmission – prices have only risen $395.

Rolling into local showrooms this September, the Z’s mid-life facelift has also delivered a mild exterior design update comprising a new bumper, wheels and two new paint options: Unryu Green and two-tone Boulder Gray (black roof).

There have been no changes to the Z’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 – which continues to output 298kW/475Nm in standard form and 313kW/520Nm in NISMO guise – or its claimed performance.
