The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric has finally made its global debut and will arrive Down Under in the third quarter of next year, priced from $167,800 plus on-road costs.
Underpinned by the VW Group’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, the Cayenne Electric features a new 113kWh battery pack capable of propelling it up to 642km in base ‘Cayenne Electric’ form and up to 623km in red hot Turbo guise.

Both variants pack a dual-motor powertrain, however the Turbo predictably delivers the superior outputs and performance.
The most powerful Porsche ever built (850kW/1500Nm), the 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric Turbo will launch from 0-100km/h in 2.5 seconds, 0-200km/h in 7.4 seconds and push on to 260km/h.
The calmer Cayenne Electric meantime, with its 325kW/835Nm outputs, hits the tonne in 4.8 seconds and tops out at 230km/h.
Counteracting the forward thrust is one of the most advanced and powerful regenerative braking systems on the market, offering up to 600kW of recuperative power and said by Porsche to be able to handle up to 97 per cent of all braking operations in “everyday life”.
A carbon-ceramic braking system is available for those planning on tracking their Cayenne Electric Turbo.
Eventually you will need to recharge, which can be done at up to 390kW on DC power and 11kW on AC, the former delivering a sub-16-minute 10-80 per cent top-up in “laboratory testing”.
Both the ‘base’ and Turbo variants ride on adaptive air suspension and come with a rear-axle steering system as standard, but the Turbo predictably doubles down with a limited-slip rear differential and can be had – optionally – with the Porsche Active Ride system as seen on the Taycan.

As for creature comforts, Australian Cayenne Electrics score 14-way power-adjustable comfort front seats, Porsche’s ‘Parking Entry Package’, a 14.25-inch digital instrument cluster, the all-new ‘Flow Display’ infotainment system, digital radio, power-adjustable rear seats, digital key compatibility, privacy glass and selectable Mood Modes.
The Turbo adds quad-zone climate control, ventilated front seats and a panoramic roof system – the biggest ever fitted to a Porsche product.
Order books for the 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric have already opened ahead of the first vehicles arriving Down Under in Q3 next year.
While technically a completely different vehicle to the internal combustion and hybrid Cayennes, the EVs will be assimilated into the wider portfolio as two new variants, meaning luxury SUV buyers now have the option of three different propulsion technologies (ICE, PHEV, BEV) in their high-riding Porsche.
How much does the 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric cost?
Electric – $167,800
Turbo – $259,900
