The Finer Details

Arriving locally in the third quarter of the year, the S splits the base Cayenne Electric and flagship Turbo on price, power, performance and equipment, and can be singled out by its ‘Volcano Grey Metallic’ bumper elements.

Launch control helps the newcomer spring from 0-100km/h in a claimed 3.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 250km/h, while cautious driving will supposedly net you up to 653km of WLTP range from a full charge of the 113kWh battery pack.

The built-in ‘Track’ endurance mode “ensures maximum performance on track through targeted pre-conditioning of the battery”.

DC fast charging at up to 400kW means a 10-80 per cent top up will take just 16 minutes under ideal conditions – provided you can find a suitable charger…

Headline equipment meantime includes 20-inch ‘Cayenne S Aero’ wheels, four-zone climate control, 14-way powered comfort front seats with memory, Parking Entry Package, front seat ventilation, a Bose sound system, digital radio, adaptive air suspension, a rear-axle steering system and panoramic roof.

There’s also a mountain of optional hardware available for the S that’s not applicable to the lesser version, such as Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, Porsche Active Ride suspension and a ceramic braking package with yellow callipers.

The Road Ahead

Unlike the smaller Macan, which is now electric only, the Cayenne is still offered with the choice of petrol and plug-in hybrid powertrains, as well as the newly introduced Electric versions.

As such, there are now 16 different Cayenne variants for consumers to choose from, though the Electrics predictably cost more than their petrol-dependant equivalents.

How much does the 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric cost?
Electric – $167,800
S – $193,100
Turbo – $259,900
* Prices exclude on-road costs
