2026 RAM 1500 TRX SRT takes a step closer to Oz

Raptor-hunting super ute’s local business case appears to be tracking well already

The News

RAM Trucks Australia has filed a trademark application for the new 1500 TRX SRT’s menacing T-Rex emblem, suggesting the local business case for the ballistic super ute is going well.

The Key Details

  • 2026 RAM 1500 TRX SRT emblem trademarked in Australia
  • Model was under “serious consideration” for Oz earlier this month
  • North American release later this year points to a 2027 local arrival
  • Supercharged 6.2-litre V8 produces 579kW/922Nm

The Finer Details

To state the obvious, a trademark filing isn’t a clear-cut confirmation of a model’s local introduction; most OEMs usually insist a submitted nameplate, logo or emblem is being intellectually secured for potential use in the future, without being directly indicative of immediate plans.

But RAM Trucks Australia has already confirmed the reborn TRX – now with an SRT suffix – is under “serious consideration” for our market, so the filing of this application less than a fortnight after the model’s global debut, paired with that local context, definitely bodes well for local fans.

The Road Ahead

If it does get the go-ahead for our market, the world’s most powerful pick-up truck will be manufactured from left- to right-hand-drive by Walkinshaw Automotive as per every other factory-offered RAM product.

We’ve contacted the Aussie operation for an early update on how the new TRX’s business case is tracking – we suspect rather well – and will update this report when we hear back.
