Deliveries of the 2026 Range Rover Electric have reportedly been pushed back into next year in a bid by JLR to buy more time both for testing and for EV demand to pick-up.
British and European customers who had ordered the new Range Rover Electric had originally been told they would take delivery of the flagship SUV in late 2025 but now won't see their cars until later in 2026.
According to the Guardian, as many as 62,000 customers have been informed about the substantial delay.
Reports also suggest JLR may have pushed back the arrival of the electric replacement for its Range Rover Velar that was supposed to land in the middle of next year, as well as the production version of the dramatic Jaguar Type 00 concept originally set to be launched this August.
Jaguar’s luxury limo XJ-replacement is also understood to be in jeopardy.
Addressing reports, JLR did not confirm or deny the delays, declaring it would launch its new models “at the right time”.
In a separate statement, the British marque also said: “By 2030 JLR will sell electric versions of all its luxury brands. Our plans and vehicle architectures are flexible so we can adapt to different market and client demands.
“We are committed to the highest standards of design, capability and quality, and we will launch our new models at the right time for our clients, our business and individual markets.”
