The Renault Trafic has been updated for 2026, with changes being made to both its powertrain and equipment levels, predictably accompanied by some price increases.

Old school buyers chasing a manual will now have to look elsewhere, as will fans of the old six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission which has been replaced by a new nine-speed torque converter in the name of refinement and tractability.
The range now comprises just five variants – two short-wheelbase and three long – but they all have a significantly improved braked towing capacity of 2500kg.
Under the bonnet is the same turbocharged 2.0-litre diesel engine (125kW/380Nm) as before, albeit now Euro6-compliant through the requirement of AdBlue, while the new transmission aids fuel consumption, trimming it from 6.5L/100km to 6.2L.
Adaptive cruise control now comes as standard on the Premium and Lifestyle variants.

The deletion of the manual variants and the price premium brought about by the 2026 update mean the Trafic now starts $3000 upstream of the previous version, with the base Pro SWB available from $52,990 plus on-road costs.
