The headline-grabbing 2026 Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD has been confirmed for Australia and will arrive next month with a WLTP range of up to 750km and a $61,900 starting price.
Having debuted in August, the 2026 Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD is inbound with the first demonstrators due in showrooms by the end of the month.
Its $61,990 plus on-roads starting price is $3000 less than the current Long Range AWD due to having one less motor, but the performance deficit is easily made up for by the range, which Tesla says is the longest of any EV currently offered in Australia.
The secret is a 78.4kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery sourced from LG, as well as a new more powerful (225kW) and efficient e-motor that can launch the Long Range RWD from 0-100km/h in a claimed 5.2 seconds.
Those wanting to go faster will have to opt for the MY26 Model 3 Performance which has been gifted the same NMC battery pack as the Long Range, boosting its WLTP range from 528km to 571km.
Its dual-motor powertrain outputs a combined 343kW and will launch the medium sedan from 0-100km/h in 3.1 seconds, but what consumers will be most happy about is the fact the old model’s $80,900 sticker price has been left untouched.
The 2026 Tesla Model 3 range will start arriving in local showrooms later this month with the first customer cars due in November.
Earlier this year, the American EV giant updated the base RWD with a new 62.5kWh LFP battery that extends its range out to 520km.
How much does the 2026 Tesla Model 3 cost?
