The 2026 Tesla Model Y Performance all-electric SUV has been outed, completely undisguised, ahead of its launch before the end of this year.
Posted by YouTube channel Nextmove, the new footage reveals the flagship Tesla Model Y Performance driving in the Swiss Alps, where it’s thought the new electric SUV was capturing promotional material for its upcoming launch.
The vid shows off how the Tesla variant will gain a black lip spoiler, plus a new front bumper with a lower splitter.
Sitting on larger 21-inch alloy wheels, the new Model Y Performance will feature an extensive chassis tune that will include adaptive sports suspension and bigger brakes.
Inside, the hot Model Y should adopt the ventilated front sport seats, carbon-fibre trim and aluminium pedals that are already employed in the fast Model 3 Performance.
Beneath the skin, it’s almost certain the Model Y Performance will also share the small sedan’s powertrain which should see power boosted from 393kW to 461kW, although limits on the battery output are rumoured to reduce that figure to around 400kW.
However much power it gets, expect around 0.2 seconds to be slashed from the 0-100km/h dash, with the Model Y Performance likely to take around 3.5 seconds.
Mirroring what’s happened with the Model 3 Performance, it’s thought the Model Y Performance range will drop by around three per cent to approximately 490km.
More details of the 2026 Tesla Model Y Performance will surface in the coming weeks, ahead of the fast SUV’s debut later this year.
