Toyota’s closely guarded 2026 HiLux has been prematurely revealed after a Thai outlet published a full walkaround video — since deleted — that showed the new ute’s exterior, interior, and even an all-electric version dubbed the Travo-e in Thailand.
The Auto Societies footage, originally posted to YouTube, captured several versions of the next-generation HiLux, including diesel and electric variants.
While Toyota’s global embargo of 4pm today (November 10) remains in place, the detailed video has since circulated widely online, spoiling the brand’s unveiling which will be live-streamed from Thailand.
Based on the leaked footage and images, it seems the new-generation HiLux is a heavily facelifted version of the current model, as predicted.

The chunky, squared-off front end with revised lines and a new grille, along with retro Toyota badging and slim-line LED headlights, gives the car a tougher, more modern look.
Several new Thai variants were confirmed in the 2026 HiLux video leak, including the HiLux Travo-e electric ute, 4TREX and others.
The video alluded to diesel powertrains on offer, including a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine, which is likely to be a carry-over unit.

The star of the leaked video was the HiLux Travo-e – Toyota’s first mainstream battery-electric HiLux.
Interior details were also exposed, confirming a Prado-inspired cabin update that features a more modern aesthetic, headlined by dual 12.3-inch displays for driver information and infotainment.
While the Travo-e introduces proper electrification to the HiLux family, the leak suggests the new generation is more of an evolution than a clean-sheet design.
Toyota Australia had “no comment” on the breach.
With the HiLux Travo-e now confirmed, Toyota’s long-awaited entry into the electric ute segment is imminent. The new HiLux is expected to debut officially from 4pm today, followed by staggered global launches through 2025.
