XPeng has revealed its all-new 2026 XPeng P7 sedan inside out with images of its inbound Tesla Model S-basher’s cabin posted on its Chinese social media channels.
The tech-obsessed brand appears to have outdone itself with the XPeng P7 featuring a gigantic 87-inch augmented reality head-up display that’s claimed to be the largest in its class and feature a pioneering ‘Touch Pad’ interface.
Combined with a new three-spoke steering wheel, digital instrument cluster and a rotating infotainment screen, XPeng says its state-of-the-art cabin offers a new voice-activated assistant that recognises if you’re nodding to a question, among other motion-based responses.
The augment reality head-up display helps with navigation and driver assistance overlays and introduces augmented reality gaming, when safely parked.
Extra tech includes front sport seats with active bolsters that can react in just 10 milliseconds and adjust laterally by 30mm boosting support mid-corner. The new pews feature seat heating, ventilation and massage which, along with boot access, can all be operated via the new touch pad.
Already previewed, the P7 features slippery fastback styling, launching with a rear-wheel drive version packing a single 270kW e-motor. The all-wheel drive versions add a 167kW front motor for a total power output of round 437kW.
A 74.9 and 92.2kWh battery will be offered with overall range from 702km to 820km depending on the variant – values recorded on the more lenient Chinese CLTC test cycle.
Featuring 800-volt silicon carbide electrics, XPeng says the P7 will be even quicker to charge than its latest G7 that can add 436km of range in less than 10 minutes.
This year XPeng’s expansion in Australia continues with the rollout of an updated G6, plus the arrival of the G9 large SUV and X9 people mover, with the P7 expected to land later in 2026.
