Mercedes-AMG is developing a flagship version of the incoming GLC EV, tipped to produce around 671kW and become one of the most powerful Mercs ever built.
According to a recent report by Autocar, the AMG version will feature a bespoke performance drivetrain derived from the GT XX concept.
Engineers are supposedly fitting three axial-flux motors; almost doubling the output of the regular dual-motor GLC EQ (360kW) and targeting a sub-three-second sprint to 100km/h and a 250km/h v-max.

Sources claim engineers are reworking the battery system for high-performance use, replacing prismatic cells with cylindrical units on an 800-volt platform.
The battery reportedly uses liquid cooling to keep temperatures steady, so it can deliver maximum power repeatedly without overheating. This also allows for ultra-fast charging up to 400kW – a big jump from the standard GLC EQ’s 330kW.

The AMG GLC EV’s global reveal is expected take place in 2026, meaning we probably won’t see it Down Under until 2027.
