Mercedes-Benz has confirmed Australian pricing for its new C-Class Electric, with the $105,700 C400 4MATIC now available to order ahead of an early-2027 showroom arrival.

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric will cost $105,700 before on-road costs and dealer delivery in Australia, positioning the new electric sedan between BMW’s incoming i3 variants.
Orders open on October 20 for the C400 4MATIC electric, with vehicles expected to reach Australian showrooms in early 2027.
The official price places the C400 $8800 above the incoming BMW i3 40 xDrive and $7200 below the i3 50 xDrive. Both BMWs are also due locally in early 2027.
Within Mercedes’ range, the C400 costs $14,400 more than the smaller CLA 350 4MATIC electric, which is priced at $91,300 before on-road costs. The CLA electric range starts at $72,200 for the rear-wheel-drive CLA 200.

It also brings a substantially lower price than the larger outgoing EQE electric sedan originally commanded.
Developed around a dedicated electric architecture, the C400 combines two permanent-magnet synchronous motors with all-wheel drive and a two-speed transmission on the rear axle.
Maximum outputs are 360kW and 800Nm, with Mercedes claiming a 4.0-second 0–100km/h time.
Its 94kWh usable lithium-ion battery provides up to 753km of WLTP-tested range, depending on specification. Quoted energy consumption is 16.1kWh/100km.

The 800V electrical architecture supports DC charging at up to 330kW. Mercedes says a compatible charger can add up to 325km of WLTP-tested range in approximately 10 minutes under ideal conditions.
Navigation with Electric Intelligence plans charging stops using battery charge, traffic and driving conditions, and can prepare the battery temperature ahead of a DC charging stop.
Standard exterior equipment includes AMG Line styling, the Night Package, 20-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels, metallic paint, dark-tinted glass, and heat- and noise-insulating acoustic glass.
The illuminated grille incorporates 1050 light elements, a central Mercedes star and an illuminated surround, with animations when unlocking, locking or charging the vehicle.

Digital Light headlights are also standard, combining micro-LED technology with adaptive high beam and cornering illumination informed by camera and map data.
Inside, the standard MBUX Superscreen comprises a 10.25-inch instrument display, a 14-inch central touchscreen and a separate 14-inch front-passenger display.
Mercedes’ MB.OS operating system supports over-the-air updates, Google Maps-based navigation and an MBUX Virtual Assistant incorporating technology from ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing and Google Gemini.
The standard equipment list also includes a head-up display, Burmester 3D surround-sound system, Ambient Lighting Plus, and heated, electrically adjustable front sports seats with memory and lumbar support.

ARTICO upholstery and steering wheel trim use independently certified vegan materials. An ARTICO-trimmed dashboard, brown open-pore birch wood console trim and an Energizing Air Control filtration system are also included.
The standard Sky Control panoramic roof has nine individually adjustable dimming segments, allowing occupants to vary transparency across different sections of the glass.
Luggage capacity is 470 litres in the rear boot, supplemented by a 101-litre front storage compartment.
Standard driver assistance includes adaptive cruise control, Blind Spot Assist Plus, lane-keeping assistance, traffic sign recognition, speed-limit warnings, evasive steering assistance and exit warnings.

Parking equipment includes a 360-degree camera, parking sensors and automated parking assistance.
Two principal option packages are available.
The $5200 Agility and Comfort Package adds Airmatic air suspension with intelligent suspension control and rear-axle steering. The latter provides up to 4.5 degrees of steering angle to improve low-speed manoeuvrability and high-speed stability.
The $8200 Luxury Package adds ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, an illuminated star pattern in the panoramic roof and the 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen.
Buyers can also delete the Night Package at no additional cost.
The release confirms 20-inch wheels as standard. It does not specify a maximum AC charging rate.
The C-Class Electric’s arrival will put Mercedes-Benz and BMW into direct competition with a new generation of electric sedans bearing familiar model names.
BMW’s $96,900 i3 40 xDrive produces 275kW/520Nm, while the $112,900 i3 50 xDrive delivers 345kW/645Nm. Claimed WLTP ranges are up to 710km and 912km respectively.
The C400 offers more power and torque than either, while its claimed 4.0-second sprint also beats the i3 50 xDrive’s 4.7 seconds. The flagship BMW counters with a longer claimed range and up to 400kW DC charging.
Other electric sedan alternatives include the existing BMW i4, Tesla Model 3, Polestar 2 and BYD Seal, although Mercedes-Benz’s pricing and equipment position the C400 towards the premium end of that field.
